Having a diverse range of skills is like having a diverse financial portfolio. It ensures security and balance. Diversity also creates resilient holistic integrated systems which is dearly needed by our communities and our planet right now.

Humans have co-evolved with all of the ecosystems on the planet. Until recently these systems have been sustainably able to provide humans and all of Earth’s life forms with an abundance of resources and services. Our current industrial and economic systems have created a huge environmental deficit that is unsustainable and will cause severe suffering to life on the planet if we cannot rebalance our books. 

Permaculture is an ecologically ethical and science based system of design, that aims to create restorative interconnected systems that both provide for human needs while protecting the planet. Burly Creations operates business based on Permacultures principles and Ethics: 

Burly Creations provides instruction and guiding in Permaculture, Canoeing and Kayaking (lake and river) Cross Country Skiing and Outdoor Living / Survival Skills.

Burly Creations strongly believes that financial barriers should not limit who can participate in our activities or services. Although we do have set rates for services and courses eg. the 72 hr. Permaculture Design Certificate class is regularly $1200 plus gst we are always willing to find solutions and to support our communities in knowledge and skill building.

For every calorie of energy you can sustainably produce your self youreduce your need to exploit the resources and people somewhere else. Not only does this create food and energy security in your own community but it improves the quality of life for other communities as well.
